Aim and scope

In this three-year venture of studying transhumance, we bring together archaeology, history, and palaeoecology to critically analyse and characterise the rise and fall of transhumance in Iceland. In order to this collaboration to work out properly, we will utilise GIS to allow us to integrate evidence from archaeological surveys, excavations, palaeoecological results, and historical documents in a single database. Such integration will facilitate an open, fluid dialogue between different specialists, which will help us unlock the great potential from the various evidence collected from all the disciplines.
